What is monitored, where the information comes from, what is automated, and what to verify before relying on it.
Monitoring status
This timestamp comes from the worker's successful ingestion log. It is not inferred from the age of a page or summary.
Current coverage
The register follows 14 selected legislative and planning sources. It does not claim to cover every NSW Act, regulation, environmental planning instrument or local environmental plan. In particular, local coverage is currently limited to the LEPs named below.
Official sources
Point-in-time consolidation XML, as-made statutory instrument feeds, commencement material and the official in-force text.
Current bill listings and bill-detail pages, including passage stages and dates for bills matched to tracked Acts.
The current section 9.1 Ministerial Direction, planning system circulars and Statement of Expectations material.
Production method
Official pages, feeds and consolidation XML are fetched on the scheduled monitoring cycle. Content hashes stop unchanged material being reprocessed.
Provisions are aligned by their stable Parliamentary Counsel identifiers. Added, removed and modified text — including word-level changes — is computed in code, not guessed by a language model.
Commencement dates, proclamations and external operative triggers are stored separately from the text comparison. These deterministic fields override any model output.
A language model drafts the plain-English summary, practical DA impact and significance suggestion from the structured change. The official text remains the source of truth.
Published cards retain their provision and version identifiers so the summary can open a focused comparison and the corresponding official instrument.
Automation and review
Every summary should be read with its official-source link. Verify the current instrument, relevant commencement provision, savings or transitional provisions, and any applicable case law before advising or deciding an application.

Strategic Biodiversity Contributions Fund terminology
Corrected an automated summary that had incorrectly expanded “SBC Fund”. The statutory name is “Strategic Biodiversity Contributions Fund”. Prompt-level terminology validation was added at the same time.
Found something wrong? Include the instrument, provision, page URL and the official material that conflicts with the register.
